On February 25 and February 27, 2025, online teacher training sessions were organized to train the teachers from both partner institutions from Mozambique. The training was participated by thirteen teachers from ISPS and UR. The web-based training sessions offered a flexible and accessible platform for engaging a larger group of educators from both partner institutions. The first day of the training session focused on the use of digital tools for lighting design and the second day on the deep understanding of the subject matter and content of new courses.
RELUXdesktop software was selected as the digital tool for lighting design and simulation. Teachers received step-by-step guidance on using RELUXdesktop for tasks such as planning lighting layouts, performing energy calculations, and creating visualizations to evaluate the impact of different lighting scenarios. The training also covered advanced features of the software, such as simulating daylight conditions and analyzing the interplay between natural and artificial lighting in different settings.
The second day of the training focused on organizing new teaching materials and enhancing teacher’s understanding of the topics covered in the newly designed courses. Teachers were given a pre-task to complete before attending the session, which required them to review all the lecture materials developed for the new courses. During the training, an overview of each lecture module was first provided, followed by Q&A session on each module. Teachers were encouraged to ask questions and discuss potential challenges to deliver lessons effectively. Interactive discussions provided an opportunity to address specific concerns, clarify technical details, and exchange ideas on effective teaching strategies.
