Teaching of the new lighting courses developed within the Erasmus+ CBHE project SLSIM is progressing successfully at the Mozambican partner institutions, Instituto Superior Polit\u00e9cnico de Songo (ISPS) and Universidade Rovuma (UniRovuma).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first course, Introduction to Luminotechnics<\/strong>, was delivered at both institutions between October 2025 and April 2026 and has now been completed. At UniRovuma, the course was attended by 40 students from the Electrical Engineering programme. The course combined theoretical instruction with laboratory work and practical exercises, providing students with knowledge of photometry, colorimetry, lighting technologies, lighting design principles, and energy-efficient lighting systems. As part of the final practical project, students carried out lighting assessments of classrooms at the Napipine Campus and proposed improvements based on technical and energy-efficiency criteria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At ISPS, the course was offered to students from the Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, and Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering programmes. A total of 30 students enrolled in the course, with 19 students successfully completing all assessment requirements and qualifying for the final examination. Student feedback indicated strong interest in the course content and highlighted the relevance of the knowledge and skills acquired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second course, Lighting Technology<\/strong>, is currently being delivered at both institutions and is scheduled for completion in September 2026. The course builds on the foundations established during the first module and provides students with more advanced knowledge and practical competences in lighting systems and sustainable lighting applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The implementation of the courses represents an important milestone for the SLSIM project. Through the newly developed curricula, modern laboratory facilities, and hands-on learning activities, students are gaining valuable knowledge and practical skills that will support the development of sustainable and energy-efficient lighting solutions in Mozambique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
